adoption project

Maybe you can't change the whole world...
but you can change his whole world.

  • 11/20/2007 5:13:22 PMNational Adoption MonthNovember is National Adoption Awareness Month. Family Life  recently interviewed Bethlehem's Maridel Sandberg, a director of the MICAH Fund. MICAH stands for Minority Infant and Children Adoption Help. (Bethlehem also has a LYDIA Fund, Let Youths Be Delivered from Institutions by Adoption, that assists with international adoptions.)

It seems that the more research I do on orphans and adoption as it pertains to God's will, the more I am convinced that we have grossly missed the boat in terms of what it means to care for others.  If there is one message I could deliver to others who oppose this as a significant ministry opportunity it would be this:

    GET WITH THE PROGRAM!

Be sure to read the proclamation By the President of the United States of America on adoption.

Family Life has joined forces with Focus on the Family and Shaohannah's Hope
for "The Cry of the Orphan" adoption awareness campaign. And both Family Life and Focus on the Family are airing programs this week with an adoption emphasis.

Finally, two other resources on adoption worth giving attention to this November
are John Piper's  message "Adoption: The Heart of the Gospel" and Justin Taylor's  article "From
    Adopted to Adoption
    ."

Did you miss the train or boat on this issue?  There is still time to get on board...
